[ET Net News Agency, 14 April 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$253.39
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$41.65 billion, or 16.44% of the market's
turnover. There were 716 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.06 billion and HK$5.01 billion, or 12.15%
and 12.03% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
28.12% and 69.82% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$1.87 billion and HK$1.76 billion
of short sales, accounting for 4.49% and 4.22% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 40.68% and 9.51% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$5.2, or 5.05%, to HK$108.2. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.12, or 2.5%,
to HK$4.92. BYD COMPANY rose HK$7.2, or 1.95% to HK$376. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$1.05, or
2.37%, to HK$43.2.
