[ET Net News Agency, 19 March 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$147.59
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.86 billion, or 12.78% of the market's
turnover. There were 670 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.39 billion and HK$1.9 billion, or 12.65%
and 10.07% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
16.19% and 24.63% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$1.32 billion and HK$1.12 billion
of short sales, accounting for 7.01% and 5.92% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17.14% and 25.12% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$0.7, or 1.21%, to HK$58.35. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.02, or
0.02%, to HK$93.8. TENCENT rose HK$1, or 0.18% to HK$542. BYD COMPANY jumped HK$13.2, or
3.29%, to HK$414.6.
