[ET Net News Agency, 7 March 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$183.01
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$26.76 billion, or 14.62% of the market's
turnover. There were 672 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.38 billion and HK$3.17 billion, or 12.65%
and 11.85% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
27.66% and 27.48% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$2.25 billion and HK$1.67 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.41% and 6.24% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 31.95% and 13.5% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$2.2, or 1.56%, to HK$143. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.96, or 1.05%, to
HK$92.34. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.095, or 1.6% to HK$6.025. TENCENT declined by HK$2.5, or
0.46%, to HK$541.5.
