[ET Net News Agency, 5 March 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$258.69
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$40.17 billion, or 15.53% of the market's
turnover. There were 709 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.88 billion and HK$3.57 billion, or 9.65%
and 8.87% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 22.64%
and 20.03% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$2.69 billion and HK$2.54 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.68% and 6.33% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 37.22% and 28.55% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$2.1, or 1.64%, to HK$129.9. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$3.65, or 7.22%, to
HK$54.2. BYD COMPANY rose HK$10.2, or 3.01% to HK$349.2. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$2.7, or
3.15%, to HK$88.28.
