[ET Net News Agency, 22 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$78.34 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$13.48 billion, or 17.21% of the
market's turnover. There were 632 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.42 billion and HK$769.23
million, or 17.94% and 5.71% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 45.51% and 32.9% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$660.58 million and HK$639.82 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.9% and 4.75% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 13.5% and 19.22% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$1.22, or 1.63%, to HK$73.72. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.09,
or 1.96%, to HK$4.508. SMIC rose HK$1, or 2.39% to HK$42.9. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$5.3,
or 3.34%, to HK$153.2.
