[ET Net News Agency, 3 February 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$78.67 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$12.86 billion, or 16.34% of the
market's turnover. There were 651 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.3 billion and HK$1.17
billion, or 10.09% and 9.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 15.61% and 30.95% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$786.49 million and HK$638.09
million of short sales, accounting for 6.12% and 4.96% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 10.89% and 30.93% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$4.6, or 5.21%, to HK$92.9. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.3, or 0.78%, to
HK$38. TENCENT rose HK$0.4, or 0.1% to HK$401.6. TRACKER FUND declined by HK$0.14, or
0.68%, to HK$20.3.
