[ET Net News Agency, 28 January 2025] Half trading-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$51.66 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.86 billion, or 15.21% of the
market's turnover. There were 628 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS
TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$831.22 million and
HK$820.53 million, or 10.58% and 10.44% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 51.89% and 42.46% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$565.49 million and HK$319.11 million
of short sales, accounting for 7.2% and 4.06% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17.51% and 12.83% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.04, or 0.2%, to HK$20.44. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.036, or
0.78%, to HK$4.63. XIAOMI-W rose HK$1.2, or 3.23% to HK$38.3. BABA-W jumped HK$1.05, or
1.2%, to HK$88.3.
