[ET Net News Agency, 27 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$80.93 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.26 billion, or 13.91% of the
market's turnover. There were 631 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.66 billion and HK$803.52
million, or 14.79% and 7.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 19.96% and 22.94% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$707.28 million and HK$642.49 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.28% and 5.71% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.18% and 19% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.22, or 1.09%, to HK$20.48. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$0.25, or
0.68%, to HK$37.1. MEITUAN-W rose HK$1.9, or 1.27% to HK$151.9. BABA-W jumped HK$2.95, or
3.48%, to HK$87.7.
