[ET Net News Agency, 20 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$161.38 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$31.51 billion, or 19.53% of the
market's turnover. There were 658 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.19 billion and HK$2.89
billion, or 10.12% and 9.16% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 42.04% and 32.02% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$2.7 billion and HK$2.61 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.58% and 8.28% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 27.66% and 43.96% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.36, or 1.87%, to HK$74.08. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.33, or
1.67%, to HK$20.12. MEITUAN-W rose HK$7.7, or 5.21% to HK$155.5. CSOP HS TECH jumped
HK$0.116, or 2.65%, to HK$4.494.
